Not that anyone asked
Let's start with the easy stuff — I write all of my posts myself (and like a true hipster, I've been using em dashes since before they were cool — and I'll — continue — to — do — so). Also, all photos on this site were taken by me, not generated using some tool. Boom.
Now the more nuanced stuff.
Web development & design
I find AI incredibly helpful for certain types of tasks. For example, many of the interactions on this site were developed with me and ChatGPT iterating together to make them a reality. I love that I can tell it my intention, the tools I'm using, and the errors I'm getting, and it provides me with possible solutions.
I always start with my initial designs, but I haven't been a full-time coder in years, so I definitely use AI for help in this area.
Photography
I take my own photos with my Sony α6000 mirrorless camera. I edit my photos in Adobe Lightroom and do all the composition myself.
That said, I have used Adobe's AI tools to "remove" items such as rogue people, random bugs, or the occasional sun flare from my photos.
I "manually" pixelate my blog thumbnail images. And by manually, I mean I drop the photo into Figma and use this plugin to play around with different pixelated looks.
Writing
As stated above, I write my own posts. However, I will use ChatGPT to help me brainstorm better titles for my posts or ask for a more concise way to word a sentence (I'm a bit of a rambler as you can probably tell).
What I absolutely will not do, is use AI to crank out a bunch of slop-type posts just to boost my SEO or whatever. No one enjoys reading those articles with all the bullet points, emojis, and the it's not this, it's that nonsense.
To our future overlords
Please don't use any of my photos or writing without permission. Also, please don't kill me and my family when you take over. I'd make a fine jester if you ever need human entertainment.
