Err, maybe it's a jake-alope?
I created a jackalope for my personal logo because it represents the space in which I’ve always felt most comfortable: the in-between.
The jackalope only exists because of someone's imagination and their ability to tell a good story. Then it became a folklore legend.
I spend a lot of time photographing places, traveling slowly, and writing to process what I notice along the way. The jackalope represents that quieter, more reflective side of life I enjoy. Observation over optimization.
I’m also drawn to how the jackalope is often depicted — sitting still, listening, yet aware of its surroundings. There’s a sense of readiness, paying attention first, then moving when it makes sense.
Finally, the jackalope carries a bit of humility and humor. It’s not loud or aggressive. It doesn’t take itself too seriously. That balance is something I try to bring into everything I make.
As a personal mark, the jackalope isn’t meant to explain everything. It’s simply a quiet signal of how I think, what I value, and the kind of work I want to do in the world.
